Abstract

The review presents a collective monograph published in Slovenia, which in a multidisciplinary manner illuminates the processes that took place in the sociocultural space of Europe from May 1968 to November 1989, that is, from the emergence of student unrest in France to the fall of the Berlin Wall and the beginning of the Velvet Revolution in Czechoslovakia, and their reflection in literary theory and practice. The book includes articles by Slovenian and other foreign humanities scholars specializing in research in the field of history, sociology, political science, literary criticism, cultural studies, and art history. In most of the articles, the Slovenian themes and problems are the leading ones. They are embedded by the authors in a broad European and Yugoslav socio-political, historical and literary context. The monograph consists of five sections, has a name index, a bio-bibliographic list of authors and an extended English-language summary, including article-by-article annotations.
