Abstract

Studies of Russian literature in the Czech Republic have a rich tradition. A great deal of attention is paid to the study of the Russian classics and the modern literary process nowadays by «Novaja Russistika (Nová rusistika): International Journal of Modern Philological and Areal Russistics». Since 2008, it has been published in Russian, Czech and other Slavic languages by Masaryk University in Brno (founder and editor-in-chief Ivo Pospíšil). Over the years of its existence, the journal has presented more than five hundred articles by Czech and Russian scholars and researchers from other countries on the problems of Russian literature, its place in the European and Czech literary process, Russian-Czech literary relations, translations, and others. In particular, the journal has hosted scholarly discussions on topical issues of the study of the novel genre in Russian literature and its contemporary fate. Over the last two years, the journal has published articles on the works of F. Dostoevsky, L. Tolstoy, N. Leskov, V. Astafiev, etc. Allowing freedom in the choice of research methodology and recognizing the pluralism of opinions, the editorial board invariably requires the authors to remain within the framework of philological scientific discussion.
