Abstract

The critical review evaluates the first general monograph on the Belarusian People’s Republic (BNR), written in Russian. It examines the development stages of the formation of this phenomenon, political discussions around the problem of Belarusian statehood in the early XX century, and also gives an extensive outline of the history of the Belarusian national movement.
